"Early in
the week of this year's PSG, the community was asked to show up on
Tuesday night at the Bonfire if they wished to be recorded. Drummers,
dancers, and singers who chose to participate would be both making a
great recording which would also benefit Circle. The Pagan community
at-large has been asking for a high-quality recording of Bonfire
revelry for years. It's here!
The community
showed up in support with great excitement! The recording crew
(Todd, Bongo Bob, and George) were discreet and the community
rejoiced from the heart without being self-conscious. The
drumming rang out, the dancers swirled, singers chanted and all sorts
of wonderful things flowed forth from the circle.
During the
day, the audio crew set up overhead microphones, and miked drums
directly before the start of the recording. For you
audiophiles, the audio was recorded on a 24-track digital recorder
and then professionally mixed in the studio.
The CD is 80
minutes long and divided into 7 tracks that fade from one to the next
based on the natural flow of the nights energy. So the effect is like
a continuous evening at the Bonfire with its flows and ebbs.
This was such
a success that it is likely to become an annual event. Please
